Surrounded by pine forests, in the middle of a small valley framed by two mountains that create spectacular landscapes, our house is in a privileged natural environment.

Our farmhouse is located 110 km from Barcelona, between the villages of Vilada and Borredà (at 3 and 4 km), which have medical services, chemist’s, banks, restaurants, shops, and clubs (sailing, cycling, tennis, petanque).

It is also an area of historical interest, since you can visit Sant Jaume de Frontanyà, the most important Roman monument in the region, and the beautiful natural environment.

It is located 11 km from Berga, which is provided with all the services of a big city.

The present farm, with 160 acres of forests and fields, belongs to two villages of Alt Berguedà (Catalan Pre-Pyrenees): Borredà and Vilada.

In the south, we saw a very peculiar morphology nearby, reminiscent of Montserrat. They are the Pic.en.Cel mountains, which offer a privileged vantage point of Montseny, Montserrat, St Llorenç del Munt, the ancient Monastery of Sant Pere de la Portella, and of the estate itself. It is considered an Area of Natural Interest and its peaks, at around an altitude of 1000m, are accessible from the house by marked trails. You can go on these trips at any time of the year and, due to their moderate altitude, you can do them in general in less than half a day (see outdoor activities).

At the foot of these mountains, 4 km from the house, there is a beautiful artificial lake, the Baells, inviting us to all sorts of activities and sports, especially in summer.

About 10 km north, the Massif Catllaràs, with heights up to 1800 m, is the nearest area of high mountains. Also considered an Area of Natural Interest, its forests and meadows change, as we ascend the paths of small and large route, from the Mediterranean to the alpine type. This landscape is virtually untouched, so it is a true paradise for nature lovers. We find plant species as rare as the Alpine Edelweiss ("Flor de Neu"), the most spectacular orchids and many other mountain flowers. Its fertility in edible mushrooms ("bolets") is well known, and there’s also the change of collecting fragrant wild strawberries.

This great number of microclimates and morphologies offers delicious contrasts and makes it possible excursions by car or on foot during all seasons.
